New London School Explosion

3:17 pm, March 18, 1937, 294 innocent children and their teachers were killed in a school explosion caused by a natural gas leak. 
The next time you smell natural gas (the rotten egg odor) you are smelling it because 294 innocent individuals, mainly children lost their life one afternoon, while at school in New London Texas. In its natural state, natural gas has no odor. Texas was the first stste in the United States to require a malodorant be introduced into natural gas distribution systems.
